Busy Bee Playschool is a space where each child is recognised and respected for their uniqueness and given the space to reach their full potential.
Owner and Principal
Mary-Anne Jacobs is the founder of Busy Bee Playschool and a qualified teacher with more than thirty-five years’ teaching experience.
She is the principal of the school and together with her wonderful team of teachers and assistants ensures each child is looked after and encouraged to shine.
Before opening Busy Bees Mary-Anne was a registered general nurse with midwifery, psychiatry, intensive care and community health.
Over the years Busy Bee Playschool has seen hundreds of beautiful children through its gates. Our aim throughout the years has been:
• To ‘grow’ and nurture happy, joyful, confident children who are equipped to pursue any opportunities life may present;
• To instil a love of learning and encourage open minded questioning with the determination to achieve whatever they set their minds to;
• To ensure each child develops a strong ‘sense of self’ and has sound foundations to reach their full potential.
At Busy Bee Playschool we have created a safe and secure environment where children can feel loved, where respect and an appreciation of our diversities is celebrated, and curiosity is encouraged.
Our school has been located on the corner of Tram and Bronkhorst Streets in Pretoria, behind our ‘magic’ green gates for almost twenty-five years. Started in one of the original Tram company houses, with its wooden floors and zinc roof, the school has grown to become a well-establish pre-primary school.
There are large classrooms for each age group and the playground, designed to accommodate the developmental stages of children from 12 months to 6 years, is located under our beautiful well-shaded trees.
